  • resist force<\/li>\n
  • are shaped by impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Crystals:<\/h4>\n

    • are <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>often known by their natural shape<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • are sometimes known by their color<\/li>\n
    • are said to consist of repeating sequences of specific elements<\/li>\n
    • are said to have a highly ordered structure<\/li>\n
    • can be created organically, and artificially<\/li>\n
    • may form polymorphs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Minerals:<\/h4>\n
        \n
      • are often known by their color<\/li>\n
      • have a crystalline structure<\/li>\n
      • occur naturally<\/li>\n
      • are inorganic<\/li>\n
      • may form polymorphs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Polymorphs:<\/h4>\n

        • are said to have the same chemical composition, but different crystalline structures.<\/li>\n
        • may have very different physical properties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

          Rocks: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n
          • consist of various crystals and minerals<\/li>
          • have no definite shape<\/li>
          • may be of differing colors<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Metals tend to be:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
            • hard<\/li>
            • shiny<\/li>
            • malleable; they can be hammered or pressed and remain intact<\/li>
            • fusible; pieces can be easily connected through melting<\/li>
            • ductile; they can be drawn into a thin wire<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              • is brittle<\/li>
              • may be shaped through inflation<\/li>
              • may be shaped through extrusion<\/li>
              • may be shaped in molds, when molten<\/li>
              • refracts<\/li>
              • reflects<\/li>
              • transmits light<\/li>
              • resists chemical reaction<\/li>
              • is impermeable to water<\/li>
