Vermont

My mother's family, our particular branch of the somewhat vast Higley tree, has apparently lived in &/or in the vacinity of Vermont since well before the American Revolution. I consider myself to be 1/2 New English & from time to time have referred to myself specifically as a 1/2 blood Vermonter. Though in truth, my mother & maternal grandmother were each born in New Hampshire, & my grandmother spent her childhood in New Hampshire, as well, I believe. :P

We are kin to families of the following names, in case such should be of interest, & especially should you yourself be kin to any of the same: Marshall, Gray, Gallup, Davis, Wentworth, Griswald, Adams, Moulton, Cummings, Blake, Winchester, Carey & Wadsworth.

Through the Wadsworth line we are apparently indeed kin to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Which might explain slight resemblance between his poetic style & much of my own. Probably not, however. :P :)

My personal associations with Vermont include more along the lines of maple syrup, Cabbot cheese & memories of a trip I took there when I was 5. I've not had opportunity to return to that land since.
